DESCRIPTION

Working under general supervision, the X-Ray Tech performs routine to complex radiographic and fluoroscopic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment throughout General Diagnostic Radiology, in accordance with established guidelines and protocols. This position requires advanced knowledge of radiologic technology and acts as a Diagnostic subject matter expert assisting other technologists as needed. The technologist must demonstrate and apply knowledge of principles of radiation safety. This role will also prepare and position the patient for the procedure by using established protocols to achieve the highest quality image.

The X-Ray Tech adheres to protocols specified by the Radiologist and accurately enters complex data into the computer system. They review, verify, and evaluate images and radiographs to ensure both technical and diagnostic quality. The role also involves ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

This position requires effective communication and conflict resolution skills when interacting with patients, coworkers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team. Additional responsibilities may include front and back-office support, as well as other duties as assigned to maintain smooth departmental operations.

This position will float between all Community Care X-Ray Sites, including Encinitas, Vista, Rancho Bernardo, Eastlake, La Jolla, and Pacific Highlands Ranch.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Recent experience in a similar role and setting or new graduate of an approved radiologic technology program.


• Registered Technologist for Radiography issued by ARRT (R.T(R)(ARRT)).


• California Radiology Technologist - Radiography (CRT-R).


• California Radiology Technologist - Fluoroscopy (CRT-F) or must obtain within 6 months of hire.


• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.


• Demonstrated knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications.


• Possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bilingual in both English and Spanish.


• Six (6) months of experience as a radiologic technologist is preferred.


• Outpatient and urgent care experience is preferred.


• Understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $126,261 - $126,261 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $60.47 - $60.47
