Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking a Multi-Modality Technologist responsible for maintaining high quality patient care across assigned radiology departments. The role requires performing scans with proper positioning, and collaborating with radiology nurses, radiologists, and neuro interventionists to ensure safety and accuracy.

Candidates must have ARRT registration and a Radiologic Technology program degree, with at least 5 years of experience as a registered technologist and BLS

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• 5 years of experience as a registered technologist.
• ARRT registered and BLS Certified upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality scans/images using proper positioning and technique.
• Show proficiency in 2 or more Radiology sections.
• Work closely with the Radiology Nurse, Radiologist and Neuro interventionist.
• Utilize Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and document reactions.
• Review patient chart for physician orders and follow written/verbal protocols.
• Education patients and families about exam, treatment, and outcome.
• Follow NRC and State regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure ALARA.
• Adhere to ACR Guidelines to maintain accreditation.
• Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients and co-workers.

Job description

The Multi-Modality Technologist

is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care in the assigned departments and throughout the organization.

These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.

• Produce high quality scans/images using proper positioning and technique.
• Show proficiency in 2 or more Radiology sections.
• Work closely with the Radiology Nurse, Radiologist and Neuro interventionist.
• Utilize assigned functions within the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions.
• Review patient’s chart for information of physician’s orders and follow written and/or verbal protocols and instructions.
• Work closely with the Radiology Nurse, Radiologist and Neuro interventionist performing procedures.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate Lead.
• Utilize hospital computer systems to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and credits.
• Educate patients, and families as requested, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
• Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
• Follow department, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure ALARA
• Follow ACR Guidelines to maintain ACR Accreditation.
• Adhere to the Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
• Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
• Exhibit courteous communication skills and an ability to work with others, exercising good judgment in performance of job duties

Reports to: Radiology Supervisor, though may also be assigned work from the Radiologist, Neuro Interventionist, Director of Radiology Services, Clinical Leads and Clinical Coordinator.
