Job summary

Kettering Health Network is seeking a Radiology Tech II to join our Radiology team in Ohio. This full-time, first-shift role focuses on diagnostic imaging procedures, patient safety, and high-quality image production in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT certification, and an Ohio radiologic license, with strong proficiency in EHR systems and patient communication.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (associate degree or equivalent required by state law).
  • Clinical experience obtained through completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT certification required; Ohio Radiologic License per state law.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients, verifies identity, collects history.
  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for high-quality images.
  • Operates X-ray and related modalities per safety guidelines.
  • Implements radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
  • Reviews images with physicians to determine need for additional views.
  • Documents procedures accurately in the EHR.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots imaging equipment as needed.
  • Adheres to HIPAA and infection control policies.
  • Assists with patient transfers and handling during imaging.
  • Keeps licensure current through continuing education.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Radiology Tech II performs diagnostic imaging procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role is responsible for operating radiologic equipment, following physician orders, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (associate degree or equivalent required by state law).

Required Work Experience

  • Clinical experience obtained through completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations

  • Current Ohio Radiologic License (in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 4773.03).
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares patients for imaging procedures by explaining processes, verifying patient identification, and obtaining relevant medical history.
  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment to obtain accurate and high-quality diagnostic images as ordered by physicians.
  • Operates radiologic imaging equipment, including X-ray and related modalities, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Implements radiation safety measures to protect patients, self, and staff, following established standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews images for clarity and diagnostic quality, collaborating with physicians to determine if additional images are needed.
  • Documents procedures, patient information, and imaging results accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Maintains and performs basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment, reporting malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
  • Adheres to infection control, HIPAA, and organizational safety policies at all times.
  • Assists with patient transfers, mobility, and comfort during imaging procedures, utilizing safe patient handling techniques.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and stay current with advances in radiologic technology.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

Preferred Qualifications
