Job summary

PM Pediatrics in Washington, DC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Tech) to support providers, patients, and office operations.

The role emphasizes preparing patients for radiology, obtaining high-quality radiographs, and ensuring equipment safety while supporting QA processes. Collaboration with the care team is essential to maintain patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduated from Radiologic Technologist program.
• Knowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic’s processes, and procedures.
• Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergencies.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally.
• Knowledge of digital imaging.
• Knowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
• Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shift.
• Document repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter read.
• Assist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipment.
• Immediately report any equipment malfunctions to management team.
• Helps patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergencies.
• Perform collection of throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testing.
• Assist in processing of laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testing.
• Apply splints, ace wraps and DME devices on patients.
• Provide patient with crutches and proper use education.
• Be an integral part of the patient care team.
• Keep exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate supplies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management team.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Assisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed

Compensation

$35 - $45/hour The salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role. Please note that actual salaries/rates may vary within this range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and based on experience and qualifications.
