Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas is seeking a Rad Tech Assistant to support staff technologists in the imaging department. The role involves transporting patients, aiding in portable X-ray procedures, and maintaining infection control throughout the process.

The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with 7 months to 1 year of radiology experience and will assist in reception tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • The Rad Tech Assistant must be enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Minimum 7 months to 1 year of experience in radiology is required.
  • Support staff technologists during imaging procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients to and from the imaging department using beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs.
  • Maintain infection control practices when moving patients and notify staff of any infection status.
  • Use transport aids like slide boards, maxi slides, or lifts when needed.
  • Ensure patients are properly clothed and privacy is preserved during transport.
  • Assist in the reception area, check patients in, answer phones, and provide general assistance.
  • Accompany staff during portable X-ray examinations to aid in positioning.
