Equiliem is seeking a Radiologic Technologist I in New Jersey to obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. The role includes patient positioning, beam restriction, and x-ray film development, while upholding department procedures and patient safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of ortho experience, completed radiologic technology training, and NJ state licensure with ARRT eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Completion of clinical and ARRT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and produce diagnostic radiographic examinations.
• Restrict radiation beam using cone and collimating devices.
• Perform portable x-ray exams in patient rooms, operating rooms, and ER.
• Identify films with patient name and x-ray number; mark side.
• Develop exposed x-ray film by processing methods.
• Complete requisitions with technologist initials, date, number, and film size.
• Maintain orderly x-ray room as directed by department head.
• Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist with administration.
• Handle scheduling, patient instruction, film filing, records, and reception duties.
• Assist patients with movement and transfers as needed.
• Lift at least 5 lbs, push/pull at least 10 lbs, stand 6 hours daily.
• Assess patient needs and adapt care for age, culture, language, etc.
• Adhere to Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision and performs all of the essential generic job functions as listed below.

Essential Generic Job Functions (List in order of importance):

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs. Select and operate equipment as required for specific procedures.
• Restricts radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to provide non-exposure of radiation to unaffected parts of the patient.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency room.
• Follows operational procedure to identify patient's films with name and x-ray number, correctly mark film as to side of the patient taken.
• Develops exposed x-ray film by processing methods available.
• Completes patient requisitions with technologist initials, date, number, and size of film.
• Maintains orderly x-ray room as directed by the head of the department.
• Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists physician in administering radiopaque mixtures to patient.
• Performs administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient's instruction, film filing, maintenance of records, reception of patients, and other administrative duties as required.
• Renders services and/or assistance to all patients depending on the individual patient's needs and abilities in moving, turning, getting on and off the x-ray tables, etc.
• Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
• Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
