Job summary

Physicians Care is seeking experienced ARRT Radiology or Limited License X-Ray Techs for our Hixson, TN location. The role involves performing x-ray testing, preparing the room, and assisting with Medical Assistant duties under physician guidance.

The schedule is full-time with rotating 36-40 hour weeks (12-hour shifts and every-other weekend). PRN positions are also available. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on/retention bonus up to $3,500.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or to be maintained.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• ARRT X-Ray Certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage patient flow in the exam area.
• Operate diagnostic radiology equipment and perform x-ray procedures.
• Document patient data and maintain accurate medical records.
• Assist with patient transfers and provide crash response as needed.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and adheres to safety procedures.

Physicians Care is looking for experienced ARRT Radiology or Limited License X-Ray Techs to join our team in Hixson, TN.

JOB SUMMARY: This position will perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement using knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Operates diagnostic equipment, develops film and prepares the room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure, as well as perform Medical Assistant duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promptly greets patients when entering waiting area, exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room
• Consistently communicates with patients on wait times; provides direction to the next step in the treatment process
• Provides solutions to patient problems and recognizes and seeks help in emergent/hazardous situations
• Executes follow-up calls with a sense of urgency
• Assist front desk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary
• Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs and weight, takes brief history, past medical, family and social history current medications, allergies and other pertinent historical information as appropriate
• Assists with patient transfers
• Assists with procedures directly supervised by the provider
• Follows documentation procedures and completes required documentation related to patient visit
• Performs timely radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician
• Performs necessary quality control procedures to ensure quality exams are performed
• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and follows established clinical and regulatory procedures in regards to patient safety and care; including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques
• Ensures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the Manager or provider on duty
• Assumes responsibility for maintaining and improving diagnostic imaging knowledge and skills with the support and assistance of outside educational resources
• Responsible for maintaining current licensure and certification for the facility radiology equipment and licensure

WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE? Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend.

Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• TN State X-Ray License
• ARRT Certification preferred
• Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred
