Abrazo Arrowhead Campus is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform a range of radiographic procedures for patients of all ages, including on-call cases and surgical/pain management procedures. You will operate radiology equipment, ensure QC and maintenance, and communicate clearly with patients and radiologists.

The role requires completion of a JRCERT-approved program, ARRT certification, and CPR certification, with preferred experience in a hospital setting.

• Completion of a JRCERT approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT and CPR certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic procedures for patients of all ages.
• Uses radiology equipment following startup, calibration, QC, and maintenance procedures.
• Provides on-call coverage when required and can participate in surgical cases and pain management.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures and obtain cooperation.
• Processes billing/charging with hospital computer systems.
• Identifies opportunities to improve patient care and reduce waste.
• Maintains inter- and intra-department communication.
• Adjusts schedules to meet departmental needs.

Job Summary
Performs radiographic procedures to patients in accordance with departmental policy. Provides a variety of technical exams that require independent judgement to apply ionized radiation for radiologic diagnoses. Responsible for on-call procedures when indicated. Must be able to do surgery cases and pain management.

• Performs general radiology procedures for patients of all age groups served. Uses radiology equipment with general operating procedure i.e. start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting, QC, preventative maintenance, malfunctioning equipment and problem solving. Assists in evaluation of new procedures, reagents and equipment.
• Functions as a patient advocate. Adequate assessment and explanation of procedure to patient before testing occurs.
• Processes billing/charging with computer systems.
• Identifies, proposes solutions and assists in implementation of ideas for improvement in patient care and departmental / facility operations. Identifies opportunities and implements strategies to decrease waste in supplies and equipment.
• Maintains inter and intra departmental communication via phone, fax, computer etc. Maintains appropriate communication with radiologists or Cardiologist.
• Adjusts work schedule to departmental needs. Uses policy and procedure manuals and other reference
  material to ensure proper course of action.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned

• Special Skills: Good verbal communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff.
• Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Completion of JRCERT approved formal program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certifications: Current Arizona Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Certified Radiology Tech (CRT), CPR.
• Preferred Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum six-(6) months clinical experience.
