Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, IA is hiring a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic X-ray exams under a radiologist's direction, providing compassionate patient care and operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. You may be required to participate in an on-call rotation and work weekends or holidays as needed.

The position requires graduation from an AMA‑approved Radiology Technology program, current ARRT certification, Iowa permit to practice, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification and State of Iowa permit to practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between the Radiology Department, staff and physicians.
• Assist in the educational training of Student Radiologic Technologists.
• Assist with quality assurance processes.
• Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service.

The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic X-ray exams (based on department needs) under the direction of a radiologist. The Radiology Technologist provides compassionate direct patient care with an emphasis on maintaining organizational values and standards of behavior. The Radiology Technologist operates diagnostic X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of designated portions of the body. Where applicable, the Radiology Technologist is required to participate in an on‑call rotation outside of business hours based on department needs and must be able to work some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology License(s)/Certification(s):Current ARRT and State of Iowa permit to practice. Maintain ARRT AND IDPH CEU requirements. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
