Job description

Orthopedic Centers of Colorado is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our orthopedic imaging team in a busy, fast-paced practice. Applicants must have strong patient care and communication skills and be independent, self-motivated, and team-oriented.

RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN POSITION OVERVIEW:

This is a full-time traveling (float) position with Denver Lowry serving as the designated home clinic. This is not a PRN or temporary float position. The technologist will primarily work from the Lowry clinic while providing scheduled coverage at two additional orthopedic clinic locations based on patient volume and staffing needs.

The three clinics are all located within approximately 6 miles of one another, making travel between locations quick and predictable. Clinic assignments are communicated in advance, and the technologist will spend the majority of their time at the Lowry location, with occasional coverage at the other nearby clinics.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day, thrives in a high-volume orthopedic setting, and is comfortable adapting to changing clinic needs while delivering exceptional patient care. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive mentorship and training from an experienced radiology team.

RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform x-ray examinations on patients; verify the appropriate exam has been ordered; prepare patients for imaging; obtain pregnancy screening information when appropriate; and determine proper exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate digital radiography equipment (Konica, Cuattro, and GE systems); review images for quality and accuracy; submit images to providers for review; complete procedures while maintaining quality standards and efficient workflow.
  • Perform routine orthopedic radiographic examinations, including weight-bearing imaging, while practicing radiation safety (ALARA) procedures. This position does not include routine skull, chest/thorax, abdominal, fluoroscopic, or operating room imaging.
  • Travel between three assigned clinic locations as scheduled to provide coverage based on patient volume and staffing needs.
  • Work independently when assigned to satellite clinic locations while maintaining excellent patient care and communication.
  • Assist in duties outside of scope during downtime, such as maintaining/scanning medical records into the EMR system, distributing incoming electronic faxes to the appropriate departments, preparing x-ray CDs upon patient request, and assisting with PACS and imaging workflow.
  • Maintain exam rooms and imaging equipment while helping ensure efficient patient flow in a busy orthopedic practice.
PAY & BENEFITS:

Pay: $28.00–$37.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
