Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an MRI support/ radiology patient helper to perform a variety of clerical and patient-care functions, ensuring accurate orders, documentation, and safe patient movement. The role supports radiology teams and contributes to high-quality service.

The position emphasizes patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital setting, with a weekend shift and onsite requirements at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• Ability to display a compassionate, positive, and upbeat disposition in interactions with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Basic computer and typing skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days.

Responsabilités

• Confirms physician orders are complete and includes signature, ordered study, reason for test (diagnosis/CPT codes) and obtains missing information prior to treatment.
• Ensures coordination of daily work duties and communicates any necessary information.
• Documents LMP, fluoro time, radiologist, appropriate history and all other required documentation.
• Confirms levels of supplies and equipment to meet requirements for patient care and/or specific departments.
• Maintains accurate information in the database; performs all clerical/computer functions to support patient care.
• Ensures the safety and efficiency of movement and transportation of patients within and to and from departments.
• Ensures images have crossed into PACS before study is complete.
• Performs registrations, as required.
• Assumes responsibility for cleanliness and sanitation of the immediate work area and maintains orderliness.

Summary
Performs a variety of support functions to facilitate the delivery of services to radiology patients following the guidelines for radiation safety. Delivers a high level of patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient’s weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
