Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO is seeking a PRN Radiology Support role to assist in Nuclear Medicine, MRI and CT workflows. You will help prepare rooms, assist families and patients, and support exam flow. Duties include scheduling, registration, and patient reception as needed.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - High School Diploma or equivalent
• CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR
• Preference will be given to candidates with previous healthcare experience.
• Candidates with EMT and/or medical imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists with room and patient preparation for radiologic exams.
• Assist the technologist and radiologist with all aspects of patient care as needed before, during and after the procedure.
• Promotes high-quality patient care using effective communication that explains the radiologic exam and ensures patient comfort and safety.
• Communicates with other departments and nursing staff to ensure exam coordination and safety.
• Maintains patient medical records by importing/uploading outside images and processing outside imaging requests.
• May provide direct patient care by transporting patients and staying with patients in exam rooms.
• Cleans work areas, stocks supplies and rounds throughout the department.
• May serve as additional safety team member in MRI after Level 1 training.
• Provides and obtains signatures for treatment consents forms from patients/families.
• Provides patient support services including scheduling, registration, reception, check-in/out and follow-up visits.
• Obtains and documents patient and guardian demographic information.
• Performs data entry in medical records system.
