Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Radiology Supervisor to plan, direct, and supervise the operational activities of multiple health centers and campuses. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in health science or related field, ARRT registration, and 1+ year of clinical experience, plus strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of progressively responsible clinical experience.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Collaborate with the Off-site Radiology Manager to oversee operations at multiple sites.
  • Act as back-up to the Off-site Radiology Manager.
  • Approve payroll and monitor attendance, including overtime.
  • Monitor, document, and resolve operational issues affecting the site.
  • Lead and coach staff, ensuring patient-centered service excellence.
  • Coordinate staffing and scheduling across technical and clerical teams.

Job Summary

In close coordination with the Off-Site Radiology Manager, the Radiology Supervisor plans, directs, organizes and supervises the operational activities of the Canton Health Center, Livonia Center for Specialty Care, Northville Health Center, and Troy Medical Campus. The Radiology Supervisor is responsible for Radiologic Technologists, Patient Care Technicians, and Clerical teams. The Radiology Supervisor regularly collaborates with physicians, nurses, administrative leadership, and other staff, both inside and outside the Radiology department.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Off-site Radiology Manager to oversee and assist with operation of the units, working together to enhance patient, customer, and employee satisfaction.
  • Act as back-up to the Off-site Radiology Manager.
  • Approve payroll and monitor attendance records, including overtime and unscheduled time.
  • Monitor, document, and resolve operational issues as they affect the site.
  • Administer disciplinary and/or corrective action in accordance with Michigan Medicine and Radiology policies.
  • Facilitate collaboration between clerical and technical staff, assisting in the overall patient flow for the various divisions of the department.
  • Coordinate staffing levels and scheduling across all areas of responsibility for both technical and clerical staffing.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical staff, faculty, and clerical staff.
  • Authority to perform annual evaluations, hire, or fire employees, and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Be a resource for resolution of all issues and be responsible for process improvement implementation.
  • Lead and/or be involved in the Joint Commission readiness process.
  • Update, create, or maintain job knowledge documentation for clerical and technical staff.
  • Serves as a role model for exemplary customer service, acting as a coach to motivate staff.
  • Practice and teach patient-centered service excellence skills in the working environment.
  • Perform and support additional duties as directed by the Off-Site Radiology Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of reasonable progressively responsible clinical experience is necessary.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved radiologic technology program or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive radiology experience.
  • 1+ year of leadership experience.
  • Experience with Epic/MiChart and Sectra PACS.
  • Knowledge and experience with Michigan Medicine policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience with SEIU and UMMAP contracts.
  • Reasonable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in laboratories and/or patient care activities
Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

Primarily Monday through Friday, first shift. Flexible work hours may be required to support multiple outpatient locations, operational needs, meetings, project implementation, and department initiatives.

Background Screening
