Job summary

Cayuga Health in Ithaca is seeking a student assistant to support radiology services by preparing and positioning patients for x-ray exams and moving them under the supervision of a licensed technologist.

You will also gain exposure to EMR systems, participate in routine room upkeep, and work as part of a collaborative team committed to safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Education – HS Diploma and current enrollment in Radiologic Technology school.
• Experience – Minimum of 1 year Radiologic Technologist school.
• Licensure – N/A
• Physical Requirements – Must be able to push, pull, bend, and safely transfer patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients for x-ray examinations.
• Transport patients from the emergency room to x-ray room and assist technologist moving patients.
• Student will be able to learn how to use EMR and complete paperwork.
• Works as part of a team to maintain high standards in radiology.
• Performs routine duties such as stocking and cleaning rooms.
• Must have ability to react quickly to emergency situations such as patient fainting, patient being unsteady while standing for procedures
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
