Job summary

Cape Cod Healthcare in Massachusetts seeks a Radiology Practitioner Assistant to provide primary radiology health care under the supervision of a radiologist. You will scribe US, CR and CT reports and support a range of interventional and diagnostic services.

The role requires a Masters in Health Science Radiologist Assistant, ARRT/CBRPA certification, and MA licensure, with at least two years of diagnostic radiology experience. Full-time, weekdays, competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CBRPA program or ARRT program.
• Must have a Masters degree of Health Science Radiologist Assistant.
• At least two years of experience in diagnostic radiology (scribing plain films, ultrasounds and CT reports for review with the interpreting radiologist).
• Registered / licensed as a Radiology Physician Extender and radiologic technologist in the State of Massachusetts
• In good standing and active registration with CBRPA or ARRT.

Responsibilities

• Scribe US, CR and CT reports for review with interpreting radiologist.
• Audit radiologists’ reports for voice recognition errors.
• Work closely with ultrasound department; perform US-guided procedures under supervision.
• Engage in fluoroscopic guided imaging such as Upper GI series, Hysterosalpingography, ERCP, LPs, Myelography, VCUG, Barium swallows.
• Perform fluoroscopic guided arthrograms and joint injections.
• Perform ultrasound and CT guided paracentesis and thoracentesis.
• Assist in non-endovascular imaging and guided diagnostic/therapeutic procedures (drainages, biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, myelography).
• Exercise autonomy in decision making regarding patient assessment and management.
• Assess physiologic and psychological responsiveness; obtain patient consent and administer IV meds/contrast under supervision.
• Protocol imaging studies; scribes preliminary reports for final by radiologist.
• Issue critical results dictated by the attending radiologist.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
