Job summary

Banner Health's Diagnostic Imaging at Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix is seeking a radiology physician assistant to support radiologists in patient care, imaging and interventional procedures. The primary location is BUMC Phoenix, with travel to Talking Stick and Arcadia as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold ARRT certification (RPA or Registered Radiologist Assistant) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, have a Bachelor's degree, strong clinical and communication skills, and be able

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge normally associated with completion of a Bachelor's Degree and certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Graduation from a certified Radiology Practitioner Assistant program or Registered Radiology Assistant program.
• Current certification by the Certification Board for Radiology Practitioner Assistants or as a Registered Radiologist Assistant by ARRT.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is also required.
• Excellent clinical and communications skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the daily schedule of procedures with the supervising physician and determines where skills set will be best utilized.
• Completes procedures under the guidance, supervision and discretion of the supervising physician and displays competencies required by licensure, scope of practice, credentialing and organizational policy.
• Evaluates medical images, reviews preliminary reports and images with supervising physician, and prepares technical reports for review and sign off by the supervising physician.
• Assess and evaluate the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient.
• Participates in patient management, including prescribing additional imaging procedures, following review with the supervising physician.
• Administers and/ or orders intravenous medications and contrast media under the supervision of a physician with co-signature prior to initiation of orders.
