Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Board Certified/Eligible Radiology physician to join the Radiology Department. This onsite day shift with tele-hybrid coverage provides diagnostic imaging across CT, US, MRI, PET and interventional procedures.

Applicants must hold MD or DO and be credentialed in Alabama; ALS is preferred. The position offers an excellent benefits package and opportunities for academic involvement within a major academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Licensed MD or DO by Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.
• MD/DO must be credentialed prior to hire.
• ALS certification preferred (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Recommends and participates in efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care.
• Accepts referrals and serves as admitting/attending/consulting physician as needed.
• Participates in academic programs such as medical education and research.
• Documents to meet insurer requirements; appeals denials promptly.
• Participates in inpatient/outpatient consultation and may be on-call.
