Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a patient transport teammate who safely moves and escorts patients using wheelchairs, beds, or carts across the facility. You will verify patient identity, assist with imaging check-in, and help with transferring patients while upholding infection control and safety standards.

The role supports imaging reception, handles patient belongings, operates Epic for check-in, and maintains transport equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required/preferred.
• 1–3 months related experience or training is preferred.
• Infection control knowledge and safe patient handling are essential.

Responsibilities

• Determine patient name, DOB, destination, mode of travel, and timing per instructions.
• Escort patients from designated areas.
• Care for patient belongings accompanying the patient.
• Assist patient in walking or transporting non-ambulatory patients using wheelchair or cart.
• Transport patients within the facility to designated areas.
• Use Epic to check in patients and support imaging reception.
