Responsibilities

• Provides patient services under direct supervision and responsibility of a physician.
• Elicits detailed patient histories and performs complete physical examinations.
• Determines tentative diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory tests.
• Performs fluoroscopic diagnostic imaging or minimally invasive procedures.
• Assists with nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures or theranostic plans.
• Performs lumbar punctures.
• Reminds patients about procedures and answers questions.
• Protocols imaging studies.
• Monitors ongoing imaging studies (especially under anesthesia).
• Interacts with radiology residents and other trainees.
• Dictates drafts of reports for attending physicians.
• May supervise other Physician's Assistants and prepare their schedules.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Role may evolve with program growth.
