Radiology - Nuclear Med Tech

License: Nuclear Medicine Technology by ARRT or NMTCB required

Description:The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures.The technologist will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed.The technologist will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow.Demonstration of flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses is expected.The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance.Participation in quality assurance activities and resolution of issues related to image processing and the image archiving system is required.Ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within the scope of licensure are expected.Adherence to and maintenance of expected imaging competencies as outlined by management is essential.Observance of radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures is mandatory.The technologist will maintain radiation safety protocols while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used in the department.Daily logs and periodic tests must be completed as required by the license.Behavior and communication skills must align with organizational mission, values, and culture.

Responsibilities:Meets expectations of the applicable competencies.Demonstrates adherence to core values.Maintains consistency with departmental policies regarding behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.Promotes staff growth, development, and employee engagement by collaborating with management, coworkers, and physicians.Promotes exceptional physician satisfaction by providing meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.Performs duties in a manner that protects patient confidentiality.Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient.Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care.Performs examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput within the scope of licensure and documented competencies.Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed.Ensures that completed exams are scanned and stored correctly.Ability to follow downtime procedures and elevate issues if needed.Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions.Performs other duties as assigned.
