Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking an Insurance Specialist to handle insurance pre-certification and authorization for services. You will verify insurance information by contacting insurers and patients and maintain relationships with referring physicians and patients.

This full-time role operates Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, and involves HIPAA-compliant handling of sensitive information and collaboration with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent requirement.
• One year of healthcare experience with health insurance plans for pre-certification and benefit verification.
• Prior experience with managed care and physician office scheduling.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient with using computer systems and typing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-certification and authorization with insurance companies.
• Determine insurance eligibility and provider network participation.
• Make outbound calls to insurers and patients for pre-certification and authorization.
• Receive and document pre-authorizations from patients and insurers.
• Contact patients and referring offices for additional insurance information as needed.
• Enter scheduling requests, patient names, referring physicians, and procedures into the system.
• Maintain positive interactions with referring offices, patients and staff.
• Backup front desk reception and scheduling area as needed.
