Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network seeks a Radiology Float Technologist for the Easton region. The role covers shifts at multiple Easton facilities, performing diagnostic radiographic procedures with emphasis on safety and quality.

Strong patient communication and adherence to RP standards are required. Applicants should have ARRT credentials, be eligible or registered, and obtain NJ license if applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered, or ARRT registry eligible.
• Must pass registry within 1 year of hire.
• Current BLS certification within three months of hire.
• Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred and ongoing training in department procedures.
• Rotate through all areas of diagnostic radiology.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and exam accurately and perform diagnostic radiographic services with quality care.
• Support technical continuity of care and educate radiological procedures to patients.
• Assist with RIS/HIS modules and data collection for quality assurance.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are ready and downtime procedures are followed.
• Participate in peer review of films and maintain professional development.

Individually and together, our employees are dedicated to satisfying the mission* *of our organization which is an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay for health care.*Full-Time X-Ray Float Technologist to cover shifts at St. Luke's Anderson, Easton, Warren and Monroe.The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures adhering to the principle of radiation protection, according to local, state and federal standards.**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Properly identifies patient and exam and performs diagnostic radiographic services on patients with the maximum amount of care, while evaluating the technical quality* Responsible for successful technical continuity of care and education of radiological procedures to patients* Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate to their job responsibilities* Assists in gathering and recording data for Radiology Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement program* Assumes responsibility for assigned area, making sure all equipment and supplies necessary for that area are readily available for use* Accurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients* Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs and maintaining personal education binder* Provides educational information to the patient regarding their examination* Annual peer review of films meets department standards. Walking or standing for up to 8 hours per shift in 30-minute increments. Pulling, pushing and lifting patients up to 300 pounds with assistance. Lifting and moving objects of up to 50 pounds. Frequent stooping, crouching and bending. Frequently lifting arms above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.**EDUCATION:**Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered, or ARRT registry eligible. Must pass registry within 1 year of hire date. NJ staff must have current New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License (with NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection) and must be registered before date of hire.**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:** Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred, and ongoing training in department procedures. Must rotate through all areas of diagnostic radiology. Current BLS certification required within three months of hire.
