Job summary

Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, AZ is seeking a Radiology Extern to gain hands-on imaging experience across modalities while supporting clinical workflow. This per diem/PRN role offers exposure to patient care, history review, and equipment preparation in a teaching hospital setting.

You will learn under supervising radiology staff, perform imaging procedures per scope, educate patients, and assist with exams.

Qualifications

• Current 2nd year student in a related program.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• ARRT Radiation Operator license or eligibility within 12 months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about procedures and equipment.

How You’ll Contribute

• Perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.


• Review patient history and physician's orders.


• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.


• Assist with imaging exams in multiple modalities.


• Perform various clerical duties and assist with diagnostic exams.


• Prepare equipment and supplies.


• Transport patients.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should be a current 2nd year student of a program of discipline. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support.


• Radiation Operator licensed through the state Board of Radiology, ARRT within 12 months of graduation.
