Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus is seeking a Radiology Assistant to provide primary radiologic services under an overseeing physician. You will exercise autonomy in patient assessment, management and imaging decisions, joining a world-class team committed to safety and advanced care.

The position runs Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, with possible weekend rotation after establishing in role. Applicants should have ARRT-recognized education, RT(R) and R.R.A.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of ARRT-recognized program and RT(R) credential.
  • Active ARRT-credentialed Radiologist Assistant status in Ohio.
  • Current state licensure as Radiographer and Ohio RRA license.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications; continuing education demonstrated.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary radiologic services under supervising physician.
  • Perform fluoroscopic, CT-guided biopsies and related procedures as directed.
  • Evaluate images and prepare technical reports for review.
  • Assess patient condition and assist in management and safety.
  • Administer IV meds/contrast under physician supervision and document.

As a Radiology Assistant (RA), you will provide primary various radiologic services under an overseeing physician. Under their guidance and discretion, you will exercise autonomy in decision making regarding patient assessment, management and medical imaging and interventional services. A caregiver in this position works Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm | mainly weekdays | could work weekends on a rotating shift as well once established in role.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Evaluate the daily schedule of procedures with the supervising physician.
  • Perform procedures as directed, including fluoroscopic procedures, ultrasound guided biopsies and/or drainages, CT guided biopsies and/or drainages, Arthrograms, Myelograms and any other procedures the Radiologist deems necessary.
  • Evaluate medical images, review preliminary reports and images with a supervising physician and prepare technical reports to be reviewed and signed off.
  • Assess and evaluate the physiological and psychological responsiveness of each patient.
  • Participate in patient management, including prescriptive acquisition following review with the supervision physician.
  • Administer and/or order intravenous medication and contrast media, under the supervision of a physician and record documentation in the medical record.
  • Maintain values congruent with the Code of Ethics, as well as adhering to national, institutional and/or departmental standards, policies and procedures regarding the standards of care for patients.
  • Maintain patient modesty and comfort, perform basic nursing functions, report any change in patient condition or behavior, respect confidentiality of patient records and maintain professional demeanor.
  • Support Corporate Compliance initiatives by attending departmental meetings/in-services to maintain current knowledge and understanding of appropriate compliance-related processes in their job, department, and entity.
  • Assess and identify signs and symptoms of abuse and/or neglect for all populations served.
  • Encourage patients to be active partners in their care to prevent harm or injury.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an educational program recognized by the ARRT
  • Certified and in active standing with the AART
  • Validation of participating in continuing education with a minimum of 50 credit hours in each biannual period
  • Registered Technologist in Radiology [RT(R)] credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Registered Radiologist Assistant (R.R.A.) credentialed by with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current state licensure as a Radiographer
  • Current license as a Radiologist Assistant with the State Medical Board of Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • 3 years of experience as a Registered Radiology Technologist
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in all OSHA requirements. Must demonstrate the use of MSDS appropriately.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $92,620.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $141,265.00

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
