Radiologist

Job Overview:

The Radiologist provides diagnostic and interventional imaging services, including image interpretation, procedure performance, and consultative support. The role ensurestimely,accuratereports, collaborates with referring clinicians, and supports radiation safety and quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Imaging:

  • Interpret radiographic, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine studies perprivileges.
  • Perform image-guided procedures (e.g., biopsies, drainages) as applicable.
  • Prioritize and communicate critical findingsin accordance withpolicy.

Quality & Safety:

  • Promote ALARA principles and radiation safety.
  • Participate in peer review, protocol optimization, and equipment QA in collaboration with medical physicists and technologists.
  • Providetimelyconsultsto referring providers andparticipatein multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Support coverage schedules, including call and teleradiology, as assigned.

Education & Development:

  • Educate patients and staffregardingimaging procedures and risks/benefits.
  • Maintain CME relevant to subspecialty and emerging imaging technologies.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Create clear,accurate, andtimelyreports in the RIS/PACS and EHR.
  • Comply withaccrediting and regulatory requirements (e.g., ACR, Joint Commission).

Qualifications:

Education & Training:

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency.
  • Fellowship training preferred for subspecialty roles (e.g., neuroradiology, IR).

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license (or eligibility).
  • Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • BLS/ACLS as required byprivilegingentity.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proficiencywith PACS/RIS and voice recognition reporting.
  • Strong communicationskills and service orientation.
  • Commitment to radiation safety and quality improvement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged sitting/standing at workstations; repetitive keyboard use.
  • Fine motor skills for procedures and device manipulation.
  • Ability toassistin transferring or positioning patients for procedures.
  • Use of PPE and adherence to MRI/IR safety protocols as applicable.
