Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques in inpatient or outpatient settings under the supervision of a Radiologist.

You will gather clinical data, maintain accurate patient records, assist with interventional exams, ensure QA on images, and transfer exams to PACS for radiologist review, while upholding departmental standards and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiological program and ARRT-registered.
• Massachusetts licensure to practice radiologic technology.
• Ability to provide quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques and examinations per age and policy.
• Gather clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
• Complete exams and paperwork promptly and submit to PACS for radiologist review.
• Position and transfer patients safely; assist with interventional exams.
• Maintain inventory and ensure QA on images and workflows.

Performs independently within scope of department policies. Clinically works at the direction of a qualified Radiologist.Job DescriptionI. Major Responsibilities:1. Properly performs all diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques and examinations, consistent with the age of the patient, within in-patient or outpatient settings, in compliance with departmental and professional standards and protocols.2. Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.3. Accurately completes all exams, paperwork and submits promptly.4. Positions and transfers patients appropriately.5. Assists physicians with interventional exams.6. Promptly and properly completes exams and appropriately performs QA to images and then sends exams to PACS for review by the radiologist.7. Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory.8. Provides Radiological technology skills to perform all exams including portables, Emergency Department work, C-ARM, fluoroscopy, and general radiology procedures.9. Assists with any other job-related duties including film hanging, office duties and discrepancy documentation and follow-up.Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:1. Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to product optimum results.2. Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.Preferred:Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.
