Job summary

MUSC Health Florence Medical Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiology procedures under supervision and in accordance with regulatory standards. The role requires ARRT certification or eligibility and SCRQSA licensure, CPR, and strong patient care skills.

40 hours weekly with rotating weekends and day shifts, including support for a high-quality imaging service. Experience in radiology preferred; schedule may include overtime and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved, accredited ARRT program.
  • Current ARRT certification or eligible to obtain within 6 months.
  • Licensed as a radiologic technologist by SCRQSA; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiology procedures under Radiologist direction following ACR/ARRT/state policies.
  • Operate sophisticated radiology equipment with technical proficiency.
  • Provide excellent patient care across diverse demographics and settings.
  • Coordinate multiple activities and maintain safety, accuracy, and documentation.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, performs all Radiology procedures in accordance with ACR, ARRT, state regulations, and departmental policies. Possesses highly technical skills to operate sophisticated equipment for the above-mentioned examinations. Is able to perform the duties of an ARRT Technologist. The technologist must exhibit expertise in patient care based on needs appropriate for all patient demographics. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Schedule: Rotating Weekends/Day Shift

Education: Graduate of an approved, accredited A.R.R.T. program

Experience: One year in Radiology preferred. Skills include demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment and current dynamic health care climate. Demonstrated ability to plan, design, implement and evaluate one’s own work and to work independently with minimal observation or supervision. Human relations skills include demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively and to work collaboratively with multiple others of diverse cultures, educational backgrounds, and experience. Political process skills include the ability to build partnerships with physicians and others. Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Requires good interpersonal skills. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to function effectively in fast-paced environment with multiple demands/deadlines. Position may require some overtime, on-call responsibilities, and ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously. Must be emotionally mature and be able to function effectively under stress. Ability to plan and organize.

Licenses/Certificates
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or obtain within 6 months
  • Licensed as a radiologic technologist by the SCRQSA
  • CPR certification required
