U.S. Fleet Forces Command in the Norfolk area seeks a Senior Emergency Management Specialist to lead radiological drills and outreach efforts. You will coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to shape and exercise radiological response plans within NORFOLK SHIPYARD operations.

The role emphasizes developing and executing drills, maintaining strong executive communications, and ensuring readiness across the radiological control program. Security clearance and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in radiological emergency management within DoD or similar entities.
• Experience coordinating with senior officials and emergency agencies.
• Ability to plan/execute complex drills and coordinate multiple organizations.
• Strong written and oral communications for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead radiological drills and outreach events as project lead.
• Review state/local emergency management structures to identify civil authorities for outreach.
• Establish and maintain outreach with Federal, State, and Local agencies.
• Communicate with local authorities, third parties, and emergency personnel to gain feedback.
• Support development, maintenance, testing, and coordination of radiological emergency response organization and drills.
• Design, plan, and direct major radiological emergency drills with focus on public affairs and civil authority outreach.
