Responsibilities
- Start up and shut down all X‑ray equipment.
- Proper identification of patient and confirmation of ordered examination.
- Travel to designated locations within the assigned region to perform X‑ray exams in the order received.
- Handle all responsibilities related to the company fleet vehicle, including fueling, daily checklist, and logs.
- Monitor communication channels and remain in contact with teams at locations.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures and conduct X‑rays following established protocols for safety.
- Obtain detailed patient history and note observations during radiologic examinations.
- Use radiation protection and shielding materials appropriately.
- Ensure radiology equipment functions properly and report malfunctions to the Lead Radiologic Technologist.
- Complete radiologic procedures in EMR and document billing information.
- Obtain pre‑authorization from insurance companies for CT scans.
- Confirm X‑ray exam in PACS and ensure the report is in the patient's chart.
- Clarify discrepancies in radiology readings with the medical provider.
- Clean and restock the site with team members.
- Participate in quality control and assurance programs.
- Perform basic medical assisting and occupational medicine technician duties to support efficient patient flow, including greeting, registering patients, and triaging incoming calls.
Qualifications
- Mastery of best‑practice X‑ray procedures and protocols.
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology necessary for X‑ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment and common safety hazards.
- Ability to identify equipment issues and troubleshoot problems.
- Capacity to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
- Friendly and outstanding customer service skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Basic computer skills, including use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Minimum Education & Licensing
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or a current student expecting graduation within 4–6 months (offer contingent upon successful graduation and certification).
- Active ARRT certification and registration.
- Applicable state licensure as required.
- Active driver’s license.
