Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform general diagnostic imaging at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. You will position patients, operate radiology equipment, and maintain patient rooms and supplies under physician direction.

Board certification and ARRT licensure are required; grandfathered staff accepted. This role emphasizes patient safety, accurate imaging, and thorough documentation in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or trade school certificate in radiologic sciences.
• ARRT certification required or grandfathered staff accepted.
• Under direction of physician, perform diagnostic imaging and patient prep.

Job Description

Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patients and completes departmental documentation.
Grandfathered staff at time of merger with military radiologic technologist training will be accepted in lieu of ARRT registry.
