Pottstown Hospital - Tower Health is looking for a skilled Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures and produce diagnostic images. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology while providing excellent patient care.
The position requires a Post High School Diploma, BLS Certification, and the ability to multitask in a clinical environment. Responsibilities include patient registration, clerical support, and potential medical assistant duties after training.
The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Radiographers must demonstrate an understanding of the human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. They must maintain knowledge of radiation protection and safety. Radiographers must remain sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills. Radiographers actively participate in a dual role while working in the clinical environment. Duties include but are not limited to patient registration, scheduling, clerical support, and customer service. Basic medical assistant duties may be performed by a radiologic technologist after training and competency are demonstrated. Medical assistant duties may include triaging patients under the direction and supervision of the provider. This includes functions such as obtaining height and weight, vital signs, and specific point of care testing.
