Job summary

AdventHealth in Olathe, KS is hiring a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging procedures across departments, maintaining patient safety and comfort. You will document patient histories, assist with scheduling, and operate radiographic equipment per protocol in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Minimum 2 years of experience, ARRT RT(R) and BLS required; higher education is preferred. Day shifts with a competitive hourly pay range and comprehensive benefits from day one are offered.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of radiologic technology experience.
  • BLS CPR certification required.
  • ARRT Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R)) required.
  • Education: High School diploma; Associate or Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Must read, write and speak English; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiology exams per established protocols.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort and privacy during procedures.
  • Assist with clerical duties including patient records and scheduling.
  • Operate scanners, injectors and fluoroscopy equipment safely.
  • Accurately document procedures and patient history.

Job Description

Up to a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus Available

  • Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.
  • Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.
  • Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
  • Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures.
  • Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
  • Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.
  • Uses facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educates patients concerning the exam.
  • Screens patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers.
  • Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
  • Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
  • Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
