Job summary

Reno Orthopedic Center in Reno, NV is seeking a Radiologic Technologist Trainee (Student) to join our imaging team at the Main 555 N Arlington Ave location. The position is part-time and may require nights and weekends; schedules are set by the manager and may involve travel to other clinic sites.

You will work under supervision to obtain high-quality radiographic images, assist with safety checks, position patients, and help document exams in the EMR system.

Qualifications

• Active Nevada State Radiologic Technologist student license.
• Part-time schedule, including nights or weekends as needed.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographic images as requested by clinicians.
• Adjust exposure parameters to obtain optimal image quality.
• Screen patients for safety and explain the imaging process.
• Position patients and protect them with shielding and immobilization as required.
• Evaluate image quality and determine if repeat imaging is necessary.
• Document exams and charges in the EMR and PACS systems.
• Maintain department cleanliness and equipment readiness per ARRT guidelines.
• Follow QA guidelines for positioning, markers, demographics, and image release.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team member to be responsible for obtaining high quality images as requested from medical professionals for use in the development of patient treatment plans at our Main 555 N Arlington Ave, Reno NV location.

Certifications/Education

• Active Nevada State Radiologic Technologist student license.

Physical: This position is required to frequently stand and walk to obtain images. The noise level is usually moderate.

Schedule: May include nights and weekends (Saturday); schedule is based on manager discretion.

Travel: May require travel to other clinic locations based on manager discretion.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

• Operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographic images of patients' specific body parts as requested by medical professionals, including using C-arm and fluoroscopy imaging;
• Adjust equipment and determine proper voltage, current, desired exposure time and distance for optimal images;
• Screen patients for radiologic imaging safety, explain the process and address patient concerns prior to performing scanning;
• Position patients for images using immobilization and protective equipment, including immobilizing patient, removing braces, splints or bandages and positioning lead shields, to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety;
• Evaluate images for technical quality;
• Document imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients' electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS);
• Maintain quality control measures in accordance with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) guidelines;
• Follow quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician;
• Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
