Job summary

Wellstar is seeking an APRN/Radiology imaging professional to join our Georgia team. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to ALARA, and collaboration with the modality manager and radiology staff.

The candidate will perform imaging exams, ensure quality images, and support the radiology team in a fast-paced environment with shift-differential pay. Prior radiology experience and ARRT certification are preferred and use of Wellstar protocols ensured.

Qualifications

• Accredited Radiologic Technology program completed.
• ARRT-R Radiography certification required upon hire.
• BLS certification required or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate modality imaging equipment per department protocols.
• Evaluate image quality and perform post-processing.
• Ensure patient identification and safety protocols are followed.
• Support radiologists with procedures and protocols.
• Maintain aseptic technique and patient safety.
• Adhere to Wellstar policies and take part in patient-centered care.

Duties will be consistent with the modality in which incumbent will be working. Candidates must meet the requirementsof the modality in which they will be working. This position will report to the modality manager.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of assigned modality imaging while adhering todepartment protocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients,self and others.
• Performs imaging exams consistent to assigned modality in a variety of settings. Evaluates images fortechnical quality, performs post processing of data and ensures proper patient identification is recorded.
• Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their proceduresand exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all.
• Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds toemergency situations in an appropriate manner.
• Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique andhand washing policies.
• Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education

• Accredited Program Radiologic Technology

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

• All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
• ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography
• BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support

Additional License(s) and Certification(s)

• Clarification on above requirements: For Diagnostic, CT, IR, Mammo: ARRT (R)
• For MRI: ARRT (R) or ARMRIT
• For Nuclear Medicine: CNMT through NMTCBor ARRT (N) Upon Hire Required

Required Minimum Experience

• Minimum 1 year Experience in Radiology Preferred

Required Minimum Skills

• Ability to operate appropriate modality imaging equipment based on department
• Ability to communicate verbally and written
• Possess excellent patient/customer service skills
