Job summary

CGH Medical Center is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic exams across locations, including fluoroscopy and OR procedures. You will ensure image quality, educate patients, and supervise students as needed.

The role requires ARRT Radiology registration and IEMA registry within a month, plus 2+ years of radiology experience. You must be proficient with CR, PACS and HIS systems, and able to adapt to diverse age groups while maintaining patient safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• ARRT radiology registration completed within 1 month of hire.
• IEMA registry must be active within 1 month of hire.
• Minimum two years radiology experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of radiation protection and image critique.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic examinations including fluoroscopy and portable imaging.
• Assess image quality and determine clinical appropriateness.
• Educate customers by explaining procedures and results.
• Supervise student technologist when applicable.
• Prioritize and manage assignments; document in the system.

You can keep track of your progress in the selection process as well as stay updated on new positions that might interest you. **Shift**Hours Vary**Scheduled Weekly Hours**0.4**POSITION PURPOSE****:**Responsible for performing radiographic examinations including fluoroscopy, trauma, portables, operating room, pain clinic and special procedures as well as CGH Main Clinic.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Performs radiographic procedures using accepted principles and practices performed at CGH Medical Center.* Performs defined competencies for as needed coverage of radiographic procedures using accepted principles and practices at the main clinic.* Accurately assesses examination quality, appropriateness and results.* Educates customers by explaining procedures.* Supervises student technologist appropriately.* Prioritizes work assignments for self and others.* Completes record entries into computerized system.* Assists in the maintenance of images and other records.* Recognizes and responds to emergency situations appropriately.* Practices competencies in radiology based upon current scientific knowledge.* Performs other duties as assigned.**SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:*** ARRT registered in Radiology require within 1 month of hire.* A current registry with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) required within 1 month of hire.* Two years’ experience in radiology preferred.* Advanced knowledge of radiation protection, physics, positioning and Image critique required.* Extensive computer literacy to include CR, PACS and HIS required.* Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served.
