Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team and provide high-quality radiographic imaging for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients. Under radiologist direction, perform procedures across settings while ensuring patient safety and adherence to imaging protocols.

As a PRN team member, you will provide flexible coverage to support staffing, peak volumes, and time off.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiography Program required.
  • ARRT certification required at time of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Prepare examination rooms to ensure safety, infection control, and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification using two approved identifiers and utilize the AIDET framework during all interactions.
  • Track patients from procedure start to exam completion to ensure workflow and documentation.
  • Process, transfer, and archive images using PACS and reconcile daily exceptions.
  • Evaluate radiographic images for technical quality and verify demographic data.
  • Apply lead markers and include technologist initials on images.
  • Maintain radiographic and digital imaging equipment via routine quality control checks.
  • Assist with scheduling and maintaining stocked procedure rooms; train staff and students as assigned.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure.

Job Summary

Grady Health System is seeking a PRN / Pool Radiologic Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team and provide high-quality radiographic imaging services for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations. Under the direction of the Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures across multiple clinical settings while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established imaging protocols. As a PRN team member, the Radiologic Technologist provides flexible coverage to support departmental staffing needs, including peak patient volumes, staffing gaps, and scheduled time off. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate physician interpretation while maintaining efficient workflow within the Radiology Department. The PRN Radiologic Technologist plays a critical role in maintaining continuity of care and supporting operational efficiency within Grady Health System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in accordance with established departmental protocols.
  • Prepare examination rooms to ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hygiene standards prior to patient procedures.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification using two approved identifiers and utilize the AIDET communication framework during all patient interactions.
  • Track patients from the beginning of each procedure through exam completion to ensure accurate workflow and documentation.
  • Process, transfer, and archive images utilizing the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and reconcile daily exceptions to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Evaluate radiographic images for technical quality and verify that demographic data, including medical record numbers and accession numbers, are accurate.
  • Apply appropriate lead markers to designate right (R) or left (L) orientation and include technologist initials on all radiographic images.
  • Maintain radiographic and digital imaging equipment by performing routine quality control checks and calibrations in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Clean and inspect radiographic rooms and equipment after each use and promptly report equipment malfunctions or repair needs to supervisory staff.
  • Support departmental workflow by assisting with patient scheduling and maintaining stocked procedure and examination rooms.
  • Assist with the training and support of Radiology staff and students as assigned.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques using beam restriction devices, patient shielding methods, and appropriate exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiography Program required.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification is required at the time of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
