Radiologic Technologist – Per Diem

Roles and Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Imaging department procedures and protocols.
  • Capable of setting acquisition factors for optimal image quality.
  • Capable of positioning patient for optimal images.
  • Capable of following Radiologist protocols for specific exams.
  • Capable of evaluating images for quality.
  • Capable of accurately following physician's instructions.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Imaging department policies.
  • Consistently follows patient identification policy.
  • Understands the correct exam needed and patient factors.
  • Documents any changes/variation to protocol on requisition.
  • Follows all P+P regarding use of ISTAT (per sites worked).

Required Skills and Experience

• Education: Minimum of Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences.
• Experience: Preference for two years of experience; new graduates are welcomed.
• Licensure/Registry: ARRT credentials for diagnostic imaging and NYS license.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Problem‑solving ability and attention to detail are preferred.
• Good written and oral communication skills are preferred.
• Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adapt to changes in work volumes.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients, and ambulate without assistance.

Location and Travel Requirements

• Location: Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center – 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850.
• Shift/Schedule: Per Diem. Shifts vary; hours range from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., as needed. 12‑, 10‑, and 8‑hour shifts are available.
• Travel Requirements: 0–5 % local area travel may occur.

Pay Range Disclosure

• Standard rate of $31.25 to $40.87 per hour plus benefits.
