Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Plymouth, MN is seeking a part-time Radiology Technician to support the imaging department. You will prepare patients, perform exams, process films, and participate in quality control to ensure accurate results.

The role requires at least two years of hospital radiology experience, graduation from an AMA-approved program, and ARRT certification eligibility with attainment within one year. Evening, rotating weekend/holiday, and on-call shifts apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for exams by reviewing procedure requests and resources per department protocols.
• Perform exams and dispatch patient to the appropriate modality/location.
• Develop/process films in line with department protocols.
• Conduct quality control to ensure complete procedures and proper matching of films.
• Ensure post-exam information is available for radiologist reporting; dispatch wet readings when necessary.
• Maintain accurate record-keeping for exam requisitions and film cycles.
• Maintain x-ray equipment per guidelines and manufacturer instructions; ensure proper use.
• Keep an adequate stock of supplies and perform duties ethically and professionally.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

• Preparation for Exam: Reviews the request for the ordered procedure and determines the appropriate utilization of resources needed as determined by department protocols and consideration of patient=s needs.
• Performance of Exam: Carries out all steps necessary to get patient prepared, perform procedure, complete all related functions and dispatch patient to the next appropriate modality/location.
• Develop/Process Films: Performs all functions of film preparation, processing and handling consistent with department protocols.
• Quality Control: Performs all functions of film matching and completeness of procedure with the appropriate personnel.
• Post-exam Requirements: Assure that all information is available for report rendering by radiologists and Acall out@ or transmit wet readings when necessary.
• Perform all record keeping/paperwork necessary for Exam/Requisition/Film Cycle.
• Maintain and utilize x-ray equipment as instructed or for its intended purpose, per departmental guidelines, manufacturer=s instructions and departmental procedure manual.
• Maintain an adequate stock of pertinent supplies.
• Perform all duties in an ethical and professional manner.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required

• Two years of experience in a hospital setting preferred, training experience as a Student Radiology Technologist in a hospital will be evaluated as part of the two year experience.

Education Required

• Graduate of an AMA approved program in radiology for registration eligibility.

Registration/Certification

• Current or eligible for, Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License and Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible, must attain certification within one year of date of hire.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 - 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.

Pay Range:

$31.00 - $54.80

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms ofthe applicable collective bargainingagreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
