Principle Health Systems is seeking a Mobile Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging at Abilene area locations. You will travel to patient homes and facilities, ensuring high-quality images while maintaining safety and patient comfort.

The role supports full-time, part-time, and PRN schedules with training provided. Benefits include medical coverage, company vehicle, and mileage support. A valid LMRT/ARRT credential and driving capability are essential.

Qualifications

• Earned LMRT or ARRT program degree.
• Internships with hands-on clinical experience during the degree program.
• Passed or scheduled to take qualifying LMRT/ARRT exams within required timeframe.
• Valid state radiology license (if applicable).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Operate portable radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images per imaging protocols.
• Safely transport and operate mobile imaging equipment across locations.
• Explain procedures to patients and position them for imaging.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and others during procedures.
• Coordinate with facility staff to assist patients with mobility while ensuring safety.
• Perform EKGs and maintain infection control procedures.
• Document patient records during and after procedures.
• Calibrate equipment and assist in interpreting radiographs.
• Ensure sterilization, storage, and maintenance of radiographic equipment.

Mobile Radiologic Technologist

The Mobile Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using mobile radiographic equipment. This position involves traveling to various locationsin/around Abilene, TX, including skilled nursing facilities, long-term acute care, rehab hospitals, assisted living facilities, and patient homes, to provide essential imaging services. The technician will ensure high-quality images are captured while delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.

• Full-time, Part-time and PRN opportunities available (flexible schedule options)
• Hourly pay based on experience and tenure
• Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm or PRN Weekends Saturday/Sunday 8am-8pm (flexible start and end times; open to discussing other schedule options and rotating weekends)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate portable radiographic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images following the prescribed imaging protocols.
• Safely transport and operate mobile imaging equipment at various locations, including hospitals, clinics, and patient residences.
• Explain procedures to patients, ensuring they are properly positioned for imaging exams while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Cover areas not being imaged to protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure during procedures.
• Ensure proper patient alignment for imaging by coordinating with facility staff or aides to assist patients with limited mobility. Direct handling of patients is not allowed.
• Operate portable radiographic equipment, perform EKG examinations, and comply with infection control procedures.
• Accurately document patient records during and after procedures.
• Calibrate radiographic equipment to provide clear, high-quality images and assist in interpreting radiographs when necessary.
• Ensure proper sterilization, storage, and routine maintenance of radiographic equipment. Report any equipment failures or issues promptly.
• Log, organize, and develop imaging results in accordance with company protocols.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle.

REQUIREMENTS

• Earned degree from a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) program.
• Completed internships with hands‑on clinical experience during the degree program.
• Passed or scheduled to take qualifying exams within the required timeframe for LMRT or ARRT certification.

• Must be able to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., as the role involves loading and unloading mobile radiographic equipment from the vehicle.
• Valid state radiology license (if applicable).
• Strong technical skills in radiology, excellent communication and patient care skills, ability to work independently in a mobile environment, and familiarity with infection control procedures.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within the assigned territory.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods while performing patient services.
• Comfortable driving for extended stretches to various patient locations up to 200+ miles per day.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under high-stress situations.
• Flexibility to adapt to scheduling changes and varying patient needs
