Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a dedicated individual for a radiology assistant role in Peoria, Illinois. The assistant will perform basic patient care and departmental support tasks to ensure quality patient outcomes and uphold medical center policies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge in patient comfort and safety procedures, as well as assist in maintaining a clean department. This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months of hiring.

The compensation range for this position is $17 per hour.

Overview

Assists the radiologic technologist in performing basic direct and indirect patient care according to the medical center policies and procedures ensuring quality patient care.

Preferred student position for those enrolled in a Radiology program.

Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence

• Assists the technologist in performing basic patient care according to medical center policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care of assigned patients of all ages.
• Demonstrates knowledge of patient care, comfort and safety procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of moving, lifting, transferring and ambulating patients using standard safety practices (or proper body mechanics).
• Demonstrates knowledge of paper work processes.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Departmental Support

• Performs department maintenance duties/errands upon request to help ensure a clean, efficient department. Uses time, supplies and other resources productively.
• Participates in assigned maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment.
• Assists in stocking necessary room supplies.
• Assists assigned area with errands as requested.
• Transports paper work internally between work areas.
• Prioritizes messages and work in an efficient consistent manner.
• Assists others in assignment completion.
• Relays information in an accurate manner to correct individual.
• Uses maintenance services efficiently by promptly reporting unsafe equipment or risky situation.
• Promptly processes images and paper work to ensure timely turn around.
• Assists physicians and other hospital personnel in locating images for review in PACS.
• Able to access and print reports from the RIS system.

Qualifications

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $17 per hour - $17 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
