Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia Health system is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist in Charlottesville, VA. The role involves operating and maintaining radiographic equipment, adhering to imaging protocols, and upholding safety standards to ensure high-quality patient imaging.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (enrolled in a radiography program), ARRT(RT) certification within 3 months of graduation, BLS certification, and a Virginia driver's license

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED; enrolled in accredited Radiograph Program.
• ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist required within 3 months of graduation from an accredited JCR program in Radiography.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment necessary to produce radiographic images.
• Follows imaging protocols and ensures image quality standards are met.
• Follows Safety Standards to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Establishes ownership of clinical area by maintaining appearance and readiness of exam rooms, equipment and supplies.

Minimum Requirements: Diagnostic Radiology

• Education: High School graduate/GED; Enrolled in an accredited Radiograph Program
• Experience: None required
• Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required within 3 months of graduation from an accredited JCR program in Radiography. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL) may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $17.00 - $19.93 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
