Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a Radiologic Technologist II to perform advanced diagnostic x-ray procedures with minimal supervision in a hospital setting in Altoona, WI.

The role supports surgical and inpatient services, ensuring image quality and safety, and assisting with intraoperative imaging as needed. The candidate will maintain equipment, assist with workflow efficiency, and adhere to ALARA principles and regulatory standards while providing compassionate patient care and accurate

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in radiologic technology from an accredited program.
  • Must hold Wisconsin Radiographer license.
  • ARRT certification in applicable modality (Surgical X-Ray or X-Ray) within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Operate x-ray imaging independently for routine and complex exams.
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic images following protocol.
  • Assist with real-time imaging during procedures, including C-arm operations.
  • Maintain image quality and safety standards per ALARA and regulatory guidelines.
  • Record data accurately in EMR/PACS and communicate with radiologists and clinicians.

Job description

The RadiologicTechnologistIIperforms advanced diagnosticx-rayprocedures with minimal supervision, supporting both surgical and inpatient services. The technologist ensures image quality, adheres to safety protocols, andassistswith more complex cases, including intraoperative imaging. Additionally, they may contribute tomaintainingequipment, supplies, and workflow efficiency within the department.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Advocate for patients’ rights, preferences, and needs, ensuring that they receive high-quality, compassionate care that is tailored to their individual circumstances
  • Project a professional demeanor and appearance whilemaintainingthe confidentiality of the patient, coworkers, and theorganization, as appropriate
  • Independentlyoperatex-rayimaging to complete routine and complex exams
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to protocol and adjusting techniques based on patient condition
  • Assistproviders and operating room staff with real-time imaging during surgical procedures, including C-arm operation
  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures
  • Follow ALARA principles and ensure compliance with all safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self
  • Follow requirementsestablishedby the American College of Radiology, U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the State of Wisconsin
  • Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety throughout the imaging process
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and ensure proper functioning of imagingequipment,report malfunctions promptly
  • Accuratelyrecordprocedure data, patient information,imagedataand quality notes into EMR and PACS system
  • Collaborate withradiologists, providers, and clinicians to ensure imaging supports diagnostic and procedural needs
  • Conduct routine quality control checks andassistwithidentifyingand resolving technical issues acrossassignedmodalities
  • Provide clear instructions, reassurance, and compassionate care to patients during procedures
  • Prioritize and coordinate imaging tasks based on urgency, modality availability, and surgical schedules
  • Respond to emergency situations usingappropriate interventions
  • Report and document any occurrences promptly
  • Monitor and restock imaging supplies and sterile equipment to ensure readiness for procedures
  • Use the organization's secure messaging platformin accordance withdepartmental protocols, includingtimelyreceipt and responses to communications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
  • Associate degree in radiologic technology or radiologicsciences from an accredited programrequired
  • Mustpossessa WisconsinRadiographer license
  • Active certification as such below by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)requiredwithin the applicable assigned modality:
