At Houston Methodist, the Radiologic Tech II position performs a range of routine and specialized diagnostic radiology procedures, including X‑ray and fluoroscopy examinations and supporting OR cases, using digital radiography and fluoroscopy techniques. The role is part of the direct patient‑care team, delivers expert patient care, mentors junior staff, and collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe, high‑quality imaging.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.

Experience

• Three years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

Licenses and Certifications (Required)

• ARRT‑R – Radiologic Technologist – Radiographer (ARRT) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist – State Licensure – Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
• BLS – Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) – American Heart Association.

• Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic procedures, including sterile technique support.
• Explains and provides instructions to patients and family members using appropriate terminology and language.

• Follows safety standards and follows radiation safety principles such as ALARA; maintains sterile techniques and infection control procedures.
