Job summary

The role requires at least 1 year of general radiology experience, an AS degree in radiologic technology, Hawaii Radiographer license, ARRT credential, and BLS from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

Role Summary

Provides general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging across various hospital areas, including emergency, surgery, and bedside services, under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic exams following departmental protocols, ensuring patient positioning, immobilization, and optimal imaging quality.
• Reviews patient orders, clinical history, and previous studies; consults with radiologists and nurses as needed.
• Ensures patient safety, accurate data entry, and confidentiality; assists with screening for contraindications.
• Prepares sterile fields, contrast agents, and supplies; maintains sterility and stock levels.
• Operates radiology, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging equipment; assists radiologists during procedures.
• Post-processes images, prepares them for interpretation, and transmits to PACS system.
• Maintains equipment knowledge, reports malfunctions, and ensures safety protocols, including ALARA principles.
• Provides patient care, explains procedures, and assists with transport; participates in resuscitation efforts when needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and supplies; shares on-call duties; mentors new staff and students.
• Engages in continuing education and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of general radiology experience as a registered technologist.
• Associate’s degree in radiologic technology or equivalent experience.
• Hawaii Radiographer License and ARRT certification required.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
