Baptist Health - Central Alabama seeks a Radiologic Technologist I – Inpatient to perform radiographic procedures for diagnosis, collaborating with Radiologists and other technologists at Baptist Medical Center South.

This regular part-time night shift role requires graduation from a School of Radiologic Technology, active ARRT (R) and BLS, strong patient and equipment handling skills, and the ability to manage time under pressure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology required.
• Experience working in Radiology preferred.
• Active ARRT (R) and BLS certifications required.

Highlights

Summary

The Radiologic Technologist shall be responsible to perform radiographic procedures to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries in accordance with the American College of Radiology. This individual will work with other Technologists, Radiologists, and the leader to ensure all diagnostic procedures are performed efficiently, effectively, and with the highest level of quality and concern for each patient. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education / Experience

Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology required. Experience working in Radiology preferred.

License / Certification

Active ARRT (R) required, BLS required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
• Must have the ability to work within rigid time constraints.
• Must remain aware of patient conditions at all times.
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for 10% of the workday, standing 40% and mobility 70% of the workday.

There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.

Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.

There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.

Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.

Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.

Much exposure to computer work.

Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.

Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.

Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Exposure to radiation.

Must be able to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and beds.
