A Brief Overview

Under general supervision, performs various radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Tasks include operating radiographic equipment, making radiographs, transferring images, archiving, and following imaging protocols that meet quality standards.

What you will do
  • Assist radiologists during procedures as needed.
  • Ensure proper darkroom techniques and identify equipment issues.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines 'ALARA'.
  • Operate imaging and fluoroscopic equipment, ensuring patient safety during transfers.
  • Participate in orientation and training of staff, students, and residents.
  • Prepare patients for exams, verify identity, and explain procedures.
  • Prepare rooms and equipment, troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Process identification data and prepare images for reading.
  • Produce quality images following departmental protocols.
  • Prepare contrast media under radiologist supervision and recognize allergic reactions.
