Job summary

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Westchester, IL seeks a full‑time Radiologic Technologist to produce high quality radiographic images for diagnostic purposes. Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends/holidays, travel to satellite outpatient clinics as needed, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Required ARRT RT license, IEMA and IDNS certifications, and graduation from an accredited X‑Ray Technologist Program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited X‑Ray Technologist Program with ARRT licensure.
• Licenses/certifications required: ARRT RT, IEMA, IDNS.
• Orthopedic experience preferred; new grads welcome with eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and perform x‑rays per procedure.
• Maintain knowledge of PACS, DR, and CR radiologic equipment.
• Use C‑Arm as needed; assist physicians with fluoroscopic procedures.
• Maintain radiology rooms and stock supplies; position patients for imaging.
• Adjust exposure factors for optimal image quality; ensure patient safety.
• Explain procedures to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation; protect staff from unnecessary exposure.
• Process and review images for accuracy and proper identification; prepare images for reading.
• Enter CPT codes in the EHR for billing; travel to satellite clinics as required.

We are looking for a full-time Radiologic Technologist to be based at the outpatient clinic in Westchester, IL located inside the Prairie Medical Center just 5 miles away from Oak Brook. The Radiologic Technologist maintains and uses equipment and supplies to produce high quality radiographic images of the patient’s anatomy for diagnostic purposes. This position is Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays. We offer competitive compensation, incentive bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for radiologic procedures and takes x‑rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Maintain working knowledge in the use of PACS, DR, and CR Radiologic equipment.
• Use C‑Arm where appropriate.
• Prepare medications for, and assists the physician with Fluoroscopic procedures.
• Maintain Radiology rooms and stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies
• Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
• Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Assists physicians in fluoroscopic and special x‑ray examinations. Measures and prepares medication and contrast media.
• Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
• Prepares images for reading by the requesting physician.
• Notifies the Radiology Manager regarding malfunctions and repairs as needed.
• Properly uses EHR to enter CPT codes for billing purposes.
• Travel as required to other satellite outpatient clinic as needed for coverage.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

• Graduate of an accredited X‑Ray Technologist Program.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) license as an RT is required.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) certification is required.
• Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IDNS) certification is required.
• Orthopedic experience is preferred.
• New graduates are welcome to apply with a strong desire to learn.

Pay Range

$32.00 - $37.00 per hour. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job‑related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
