Job summary

Black Women’s Health Institute seeks a radiologic technologist to perform general radiology and fluoroscopic imaging across hospital settings, including emergency, surgery, and bedside services.

The role requires an associate degree in radiologic technology or equivalent, Hawaii radiographer license, ARRT certification, and BLS. Trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgery experience are preferred; on-call duties and ongoing education are expected.

Qualifications

• Hawaii radiographer license, ARRT certification, and BLS certification required.
• Preferred experience in trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgery settings.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic examinations following departmental protocols; positions patients, selects technical factors, reviews clinical history, and consults with radiologists and nurses.
• Ensures patient safety by verifying identity, maintaining privacy, documenting procedures, and screening for contraindications.
• Prepares sterile fields, contrast agents, and supplies; assists radiologists during fluoroscopic procedures.
• Post-processes images, prepares them for interpretation, and transmits data to PACS.
• Maintains equipment, reports malfunctions, and ensures safety protocols are followed, including radiation safety measures.
• Provides compassionate patient care, explains procedures, and assists with patient transport and safety instructions.
• Participates in emergency response teams and maintains cleanliness and supply levels in the work area.
• Shares on-call duties and pursues ongoing education; attends departmental meetings and trainings.
