Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Outpatient Imaging Services - Diagnostic Technician to work under minimal supervision with physicians to perform diagnostic imaging exams and ensure equipment maintenance. The role features a 4x10 hour workweek with rotating day off, and no weekends.

Full-time benefits apply. Qualified candidates will hold an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences or be a graduate of an AMA approved school, with ARRT and Texas Medical Board licensure and BLS

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduate from AMA approved school.
• Licenses: ARRT and Texas Medical Board licensure as Medical Radiologic Technologist.
• BLS certification by AHA or ARC required by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders for accuracy and applicability to diagnostic exams.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain necessary identifiers and history.
• Assist physicians in performing diagnostic procedures and ensure proper labeling in EHR.
• Complete exam charges and ensure adherence to ALARA radiation safety principles.
• Maintain QC checks and report issues with imaging systems to service engineers.
