Job summary

USA Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform CT scans and support imaging workflows. You will verify patient data, explain procedures, and position patients to secure diagnostic-quality images.

The role requires ARRT certification within 1 year, BCLS on hire, and adherence to ALARA safety standards in fast-paced clinical settings.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT Registry in Diagnostic Radiology within 1 year required.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) required on hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans according to physician orders and imaging protocols.
  • Verify patient identity, medical history, and examination requests.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions.
  • Position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Respond to emergency and trauma imaging requests as needed.
  • Maintain infection control and HIPAA privacy standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT scans according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
  • Verify patient identity, medical history, and examination requests.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Administer IV contrast media when qualified and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Follow radiation safety principles (ALARA) to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Evaluate image quality and repeat scans when necessary.
  • Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record and PACS/RIS systems.
  • Maintain equipment, perform quality assurance checks, and report equipment issues.
  • Respond to emergency and trauma imaging requests as needed.
  • Maintain infection control and patient privacy standards (HIPAA).
  • May assist with training Radiology and CT students.
  • Perform a variety of related digital image management tasks as necessary (e.g., exceptions, annotations).
  • Prepare patients for intravenous (IV) injections: starting the IV and maintaining access.
  • Administer IV contrast per approved protocols.
  • Maintain competency in point of care testing (POCT) for creatinine/eGFR testing.
  • Recognize and appropriately respond to extravasation of IV contrast, ensuring proper treatment and notifying the patient's healthcare provider.
  • Perform visual preventive safety inspections of all equipment used and communicate problems to supervision/management.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the department.
  • Complete all aspects of a patient\'s exam, including ensuring images are available for physician review on PACS in a timely manner, charging procedures and supplies, documenting contrast usage, and documenting history or additional notes.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and/or participating in professional societies.
  • Complete all mandatory educational requirements in a timely manner.
  • Accept and complete all duties positively and without conflict.
  • Complete all mandatory departmental, educational and hospital requirements.
  • Adhere to current Infection Control and Safety Standards.
  • Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work the schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as assigned.
Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (0.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, successful completion of an approved course in Radiologic Technology, 1 year of experience conducting routine diagnostic procedures, and completion of an approved program in advanced modality or 1 year of experience in advanced modality. Required
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Radiologic Technology may substitute for up to one year of experience in conducting routine diagnostic procedures. Required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Registry in Diagnostic Radiology within 1 Year. Required
  • Advanced registry is highly preferred and may be required for certain modalities.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire. Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
